We’re delighted to announce that the Net Primates Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation has been renewed for the second year running.

Regrettably, our accreditation was received a little later than anticipated due to the unforeseen circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic; both ourselves and our third-party assessor were busy helping customers adapt for remote working. Fortunately, we were confident that our IT security was rigorous and our assessor made themself available at the first available opportunity, in late May.

To achieve the ‘Plus’ element of the accreditation we’ve had to demonstrate the five technical controls of Cyber Essentials to an independent, external expert tasked with carrying out an onsite audit of our business.

  • Secure internet connection
  • Secure devices and software
  • Control access to data and services
  • Protection from viruses and other malware
  • Keeping devices and software up to date

Alongside the Cyber Essentials elements we’ve also needed to prove that we comply with extra, more stringent and convoluted processes, as detailed by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). Accreditation shows that Net Primates are better able to remain secure from the risk of the more virulent cyber threats; we’re more able to protect ourselves and our customers from damaging cyberattacks.

Ensuring that we’re complying with the requirements of Cyber Essentials Plus is an ongoing process. In doing so, we’re constantly learning and evolving our processes and procedures which we pass on to our customers wherever possible.

All businesses are entitled to apply for Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essential Plus from the NCSC. If you’d like to make your business more secure, and demonstrate commitment to keeping your customers’ data safe, we can help you become compliant.
