Fortunately, we were confident that our IT security was rigorous and our assessor made themself available at the first available opportunity, in late May.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>To achieve the \u2018Plus\u2019 element of the accreditation\u00a0we\u2019ve had\u00a0to demonstrate the five technical controls\u00a0of\u00a0Cyber Essentials to an independent, external\u00a0expert tasked with carrying out an onsite audit of\u00a0our business.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Secure internet connection\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>Secure devices and software\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>Control access to data and services\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>Protection from viruses and other malware\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<li>Keeping devices and software up to date\u00a0<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Alongside the Cyber Essentials\u00a0elements\u00a0we\u2019ve also needed\u00a0to prove that we\u00a0comply with extra, more stringent and convoluted processes, as detailed by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncsc.gov.uk\/cyberessentials\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Cyber Security Centre<\/a>\u00a0(NCSC).\u00a0Accreditation shows that Net Primates are\u00a0better able to remain secure from the risk of\u00a0the\u00a0more virulent\u00a0cyber\u00a0threats; we\u2019re\u00a0more\u00a0able to\u00a0protect\u00a0ourselves\u00a0and\u00a0our\u00a0customers from\u00a0damaging cyberattacks.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Ensuring that we\u2019re complying with the requirements of Cyber Essentials Plus is an ongoing process.\u00a0In doing so, we\u2019re constantly learning and evolving our processes and procedures\u00a0which we pass on to our customers wherever possible.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>All businesses are entitled to apply for Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essential Plus from the\u00a0NCSC.
