After a successful project back in November 2014 welcoming Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas® to Southampton, Net Primates was given the task to prepare and support the arrival of Anthem of the Seas® to the UK.

The second in Royal Caribbean’s (RCCL) groundbreaking Quantum Class of ships, Anthem of the Seas® boasts more state-of-the-art technology, world-class dining and spectacular entertainment than any other cruise ship in the world.

Two months before Anthems arrival in Southampton, Net Primates were engaged by RCCL to help prepare Southampton’s City Cruise Terminal. This involved regular conference calls between the UK and USA, onsite project management and liaising with third party suppliers. As part of the update Net Primates installed a fully managed 100Mbit/s fibre optic Internet connection into the Terminal to allow RCCL to connect back to their shoreside operations in the USA.

Another requirement raised two weeks prior to her arrival was the need for 3 PSTN lines to be linked to the ship for an important RCCL earnings call to the RCCL’s investors. Net Primates managed the installation of 3 copper circuits into the Cruise Terminal routing direct to their new Comms Room on the 1st Floor. On Anthem’s arrival Net Primates was tasked to plan and route the telephone connections from the shoreside Comms Room, across the passenger gang way and hand off to the ships IT.

Once alongside and for the duration of her visit to Southampton, Net Primates provided shoreside IT/Telecoms support to terminal staff and to Anthems IT staff.
