2020 has been challenging for most, but particularly harsh for some families who are facing unexpected poverty. Christmas will be very different for many. Children could be waking on Christmas morning with no presents under the tree and very little to eat.

At Net Primates we’ve wanted to try and make a little difference by supporting Wave 105’s ‘Cash for Kids: Mission Christmas appeal, and the Youth and Families Matter food bank based at Testwood Baptist Church.

Cash for Kids: Mission Christmas

Our first job was to go on a shopping trip for Christmas presents. Wave 105 are seeking donations of new and unwrapped gifts that can be dropped off at points across the region. There are also other ways in which we can all help. Take a look at their website for more information on ways that you can get involved if you’re in a position to.

If you are struggling to support your family you can apply for gifts on the Wave 105 website.

Youth and Families Matter food bank

Basics Bank’ provides emergency groceries for individuals and families who are struggling. Organised by ‘Youth and Families Matter’, the charity relies on grants, fundraising initiatives, gifts and donations.

Net Primates have made a cash donation of £1,500 to help ensure local kids have food on the table over Christmas. If you’re able to help, the charity can accept donations of food brought to their base at the Testwood Baptist Church and there are options for supporting financially detailed on the website

Thank you from Net Primates

We know our donations will make a small difference to families that need it, but that the charity sector face challenges like no other this year. We’d like to say a huge “Thank you” to all those that give up enormous amounts of time and energy supporting our community, helping families in crisis.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy Christmas, from the Net Primates team.
